Tell us a little about yourself? Where do you live and work? What do you do surrounding OpenStack?

I am trained as a high-energy physicist, and worked on the Delphi experiment at CERN during the 1990’s. Some 15 years ago, I joined the CERN IT department, where I have worked on Infrastructure Monitoring, on Physica Data services, our Virtualization kiosk, and, since a few years, on our OpenStack Cloud service. I live near CERN, in a small French village, where I enjoy cycling and walking in the Jura mountains.

What’s your favorite area/ project to work on in OpenStack? What’s your specialty?

We deploy a large range of OpenStack components, including (but not limited to) Nova, Keystone, Cinder, Magnum, Neutron. To be able to do that, we rely heavily on the development teams, but equally on the teams that package the software, provide installation and operations guides, write documentation, maintain configuration tools, etc. As an operator, I am particulaty grateful to these communities, and to contributing to this work is great fun.

What is your expectations on the first OpenStack Days Nordic event?

Meeting fellow OpenStackers is always a pleasure, and talking about CERN’s usecases and experiences often leads to great feedback. I am sure the OpenStack Days Nordic event will be no different in this respect!

What do you think the audience will take away from your key note session?

I want to explain what computing challenges CERN faces, and how OpenStack is allowing us to meet them. In addition, I want to talk about our involvement in the OpenStack project, and share out enthusiasm with you.
